Sub-varsity football: Ryan JV Blue falls to Marcus

Ryan JV Blue fell behind 21-0 in the first half en route to a 35-14 loss to Flower Mound Marcus on Thursday.

Shemar Coleman was Ryan’s lone offensive weapon, rushing for 146 yards and both scores on 13 carries.

Quarterback Andrew Flores added 114 rushing yards on 16 attempts, but he and Austin Carter combined to go 5-for-14 passing for 45 yards and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown to open the game’s scoring.

The Raiders will play host to Hebron at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Ryan Freshman Blue 26, Flower Mound Marcus 19

FLOWER MOUND — Josh Branch threw two touchdown passes to lead Ryan’s freshmen Blue past Flower Mound Marcus 26-19.

Branch threw a 50-yard TD pass to Jason Gulley and a 35-yarder to Thomas Wilson. Randy Gray scored on a 30-yard run, and Delano Robinson added a 30-yard fumble recovery for a score on defense.

Ryan Blue (4-1) plays at Hebron at 7 p.m. Thursday.
