Denton Boys Baseball: Russell, Hammett lead White Sox by Tigers

Brady Russell drove in five runs with a pair of hits and Drew Hammett was untouchable in his relief appearance as the White Sox remained unbeaten in 10U Grapefruit action after a 9-6 victory over the Tigers Tuesday night.

Hammett faced just three batters in his inning of work to preserve the White Sox victory. Joining Russell as offensive standouts were Hayden Reedy and Cody Kyle with a run-scoring singles and each scored twice. Jeremiah Olson had a inside-the-park home run as the White Sox improved to 6-0.



Orioles 11, Yankees 4

Trey Shelton had a four RBI night and Sam Beeman made a crucial defensive play in center field as the Orioles rolled to a 11-4 victory over the Yankees and remained undefeated in 15U action.



Flower Mound Rattlers 6, Denton Outlaws 3

Scott Wisker scattered three hits over three innings and struck out six but the Denton Outlaws suffered their first loss of the season with a 6-3 loss to the Flower Mound Rattlers in NTI 12U action.

Bryndon Estes led the Outlaws’ offense with two hits while Joe Frisby, Tristan Flanagan, Nick Chapman and Carson Arnett had one hit each.


Denton Outlaws 7, Flower Mound Rattlers 6

Reed Wilhoit made a game-saving play in right field in the final inning as the Denton Outlaws rebounded from an earlier loss to the Flower Mound Rattlers to score a 7-6 victory.

Nick Chapman pitched three inning in relief, allowing just one hit and one run to pick up the victory. Riley Andrews led the Outlaw offense with three hits and two RBIs while Tristan Flanagan had two hits and a pair of runs batted in while Joe Frisby, Chapman, Wilhoit and Scott Wisker had one hit each.

The Outlaws are now 7-1 on the season.


10U Cactus

Tigers 15, White Sox 14

Isaac Boodt had three hits, Nathan Hokanson and Tanner Robertson had two hits each and Trent Kidd had one hit for the White Sox in their 15-14 loss to the Tigers in 10U Cactus action.

The loss dropped the White Sox to 2-5 for the season.


8U Grapefruit

Rangers 18, Astros 9

Gage Weis had four hits, including a double, and drove in three runs as the Rangers rolled to a 18-8 victory over the Astros in 8U Grapefruit league action.

Darius Smith and Weis combined for a double play late in the game as the Rangers improved to 4-1 for the season.
