Denton Boys Baseball: Rocha, Hammett fan 17 in White Sox victory

Bradly Rocha and Drew Hammett combined for 17 strikeouts as the White Sox improved to 8-1 for the season with a 5-2 victory over the Pirates in 10U Grapefruit league action.

Rocha fanned eight in three innings of work and allow one run before Hammett came on and fanned nine in his relief appearance.

Shea Flynn and two hits and a RBI while Cody Kyle and Alan Cobble led the White Sox in offensive production.


10U Cactus

Rangers 14, Tigers 5

Multiple hits by Brady Foster, Caden Hedges, Shawn Limore and Nick Sehon led the Rangers to a 14-5 victory over the Tigers in 10U Cactus league action.

Foster had a home run and single while Hedges, Limore and Sehon had two hits, including doubles, while Braden Roos, John Maxwell, Avery Walker and Garret Asis had one hit each for the Rangers. Roos, Limore and Hedges combined for a strong pitching performance by the Rangers, now 9-0-1 for the season.

Travis Sanches and Liam Workman led the Tigers offensive attack while Dezmon Riley Fi;;more and Dyland Asherwood made defensive plays for the Tigers.


White Sox 16, Red Sox 10

Nathan Hokanson had four hits, including two doubles, and fanned five batters in a relief pitching outing as the White Sox rolled to a 16-10 victory over the Red Sox.

Trent Kidd and Isaac Boodt had two hits, including a double, while Jai Wilson and Carson Ratzlaff had one hit each as the White Sox improved to 3-6 for the year.



Denton Outlaws 1-9, Flower Mound Rattlers 9-8

The Denton Outlaws used a strong offensive performance from several players to earn a split of a doubleheader in NTI 12U action Saturday with the Flower Mound Rattlers. The Outlaws dropped the first game 9-1 before taking a 9-8 win in the second game.

Bryndon Estes had three hits and drove in two runs, Reed Wilhoit and Nick Chapman had two hits and two RBI each. Riley Andrews also added two hits while Joe Frisby, Lane Pirkle, Carson Arnett and Chris Loucks had one hit each in the second game. Pirkle and Wilhoit also came up with key defensive plays as the Outlaws improved to 10-2 for the season.

In the first game, Frisby and Scott Wisker had one hit each and Pirkle pitched two innings of no hit, no run relief, striking out four.



Denton Texans 10-14, Colleyville 8-7

The Denton Texans used strong pitching from Like Fleitman and Rece Parker in the first game and then got multiple hits from Parker, Tanner Dieleman, Fleitman, Mason Davis, Coby Sullivan and Elliott Brecht in the second game as the Texans swept a doubleheader over Colleyville, winning 10-8 and 15-7 Saturday.

Fleitman gave up three runs on three hits through five inning to get the win and Parker pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth inning for the save in the first game. Davis had three hits and drove in three runs while Fleitman had a pair of doubles.

In the second game, Parker and Dieleman had three hits each while Fleitman, Davis, Sullivan and Brecht had two hits each to lead the offensive outbreak. Braden Sweeten was the winning pitcher for the Texans, picking up his second victory of the season.


8U Grapefruit

Ranger 13, Red Sox 6

Myles Armstrong had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Rangers improved to 8-1 in 8U Grapefruit league action with a 13-6 win over the Red Sox.

Shane Rutledge’s diving catch in centerfield and then his throw to Armstrong at second for a double play led the defensive highlights for the Rangers.



Orioles 13-16, Rangers 1-5

The Orioles, behind the pitching of Sam Beeman and Anthony Cajilema and the hitting of Jon Bernal, rolled to a doubleheader sweep of the Rangers in 15U action Saturday, winning 13-1 and 16-5.

Beeman pitched two shutout innings and Cajilema was perfect in his inning of relief in the first game of the doubleheader.

Bernal had a three-run double and Ty Riley came on in relief and worked out of a bases-loaded jam as the Orioles improved their record to 7-1.
