Denton Boys Baseball: Sox wrap up regular-season title

The White Sox used timely hitting and a key defensive play en route to an 8-5 victory over the Pirates in the regular-season finale for both teams in 10U Grapefruit league action.

Jeremiah Olsen’s bases-loaded double broke open a tight game, and an inning later center fielder Liam Daly caught a bases-loaded fly ball and threw to second to double-up a running Pirate to end the inning.

Shea Flynn was 2-for-3 and stole four bases as the White Sox wrapped up the regular-season championship with an 11-1 record.



Denton Outlaws 17-17, Little Elm Aces 5-0

The Denton Outlaws got strong offensive efforts from several players and solid pitching to sweep a doubleheader with the Little Elm Aces to finish the regular season at 12-2 and in second place.

Joe Frisby and Tristan Flanagan had three hits apiece while Carson Arnett, Riley Andrews and Reed Wilhoit each added two hits in the 17-5 first game. Lane Pirkle struck out five in three innings and Andrews fanned two in one inning.

In the 17-0 second game, Flanagan pitched three scoreless innings and struck out six to take the victory. Andrews and Bryndon Estes each had three hits while Flanagan and Scott Wisker had two apiece to lead the offense.
