Middle school volleyball: Crownover sweeps three volleyball matches from Navo

Crownover stopped Navo 25-11, 25-22 in an eighth-grade A-team match as Sydney Meador served 12 points while Olivia Brown served eight points.

Crownover also won the B-team match 25-11, 25-20 as Emily Hunter served 14 points and Morgan Lutes served six points.

In the C-team match, Crownover won 25-15, 25-19 as Gabby Webster served 10 points while Isabel Tovar had five points and Mattilyn Walker had four.


Crownover seventh-grade A d. Navo

Samantha Walsh served 11 points to lead Crownover to a 25-11, 25-22 win over Navo.

The Lady Cowboys’ Taylor Brann served for 13 points.

In the B-team game, Brianna Leeds and Janelle Chapa served for three points apiece, but Crownover lost 23-25, 25-12, 15-6.

In the C-team match, Crownover posted a 25-15, 25-4 win over Navo as Sydney Sanford had 13 serves while Kate Popowski served 10 points and Avanna Brown served seven.


McMath eighth-grade A d. Calhoun

Led by Lindseey Devore, McMath registered a 25-18, 25-14 win over Calhoun.

Landie Urban had a solid game serving and Olive Burns was noted for her hustle as the Lady Tigers improved to 2-0.

In the B-team match, McMath won 25-8, 25-16 as Sydney Kelley and Elim Serrano had strong performance for the Lady Tigers.


McMath seventh-grade A d. Calhoun

Miles Baker used her strong jump serve to score 13 straight points to lead McMath to a 25-4, 25-8 win over Calhoun.

McMath also won the B-team match 25-22, 25-21, but the Lady Tigers’ C team dropped a 30-29, 25-22 decision.


Harpool seventh-grade A d. Little Elm

Caroline Orozco led Harpool with 24 service points and five digs as Harpool beat Little Elm 25-10, 25-15.

Amber Lyons and Meredith Hill each had one kill.

Little Elm won the B-team match 25-16, 25-17, but Riley Whitcomb and Arianna Butler each had three service points for Harpool.

In the C-team match, Harpool won 25-20, 25-11 as Terrie-Lynne Hundley led with eight serves and two kills. Elena Valadez added six points.


Harpool eighth-grade A d. Little Elm

Shelby Heitkamp scored 20 points and Lauren Heard had 17 as Harpool defeated Little Elm 25-22, 25-27, 25-22.

The Lady Longhorns’ Elizabeth Donnelly scored 12 points, and Brynn Wamack and Nicole Ayulo each had eight assists.
