Middle school volleyball: McMath beats Lake Dallas to improve to 9-0

The McMath Lady Tigers improved to 9-0 with a 25-14, 25-16 victory over Lake Dallas on Thursday in a seventh-grade A-team match.

Contributing to the win were Miles Baker, Kate Cowan, Lucy Martin, Sydnie Acker, Alyssa Williamson, Kendall Rivers, Makenzi Beavers, Holly Higgs and Stephanie Williamson.

Acker, Cowan and Rivers had productive serving nights, and Baker and Cowan had multiple kills.

The Lady Tigers are 4-0 in district play.

McMath won the B-team match 25-22, 12-25, 15-12 but lost the C-team match 25-19, 13-25, 15-13.


Crownover seventh-grade A d. Harpool

Crownover beat Harpool 27-25, 25-23 as Kenzi Valdez served for six points and Taylor Wallace served for five.

Angel Felan and Saylor Snowden led Harpool with four service points apiece. Caroline Orozco had five digs, while Bryer Winder and Meredith Hill each had two kills.

Crownover won the B-team match 25-23, 22-25, 17-15 as Brianna Leeds scored six service points and Megan Warner and Reagan Hubbard each served for four points.

For Harpool, Mallory Pittman had eight service points and Gracie Cox and Madi Holder had one kill apiece. Arianna Butler and Kailey Kidd each had two digs.

Crownover lost the C-team match 13-25, 25-14, 15-12 as Allie Griffiths had five service points and Jessie Hoffman had four. Megan Dixon and Lauren McKinney each had one dig for the Lady Longhorns.

For the Lady Cowboys, Monica Chavez served for 10 points and Kate Popowski served for eight.
