Youth sports roundup: Mean Green remains undefeated

Jason Carter and Jordan Laxamana turned in strong performances as the Mean Green ran their record to 7-0 with a 27-0 win over the Raiders in Denton All-Star Youth Football Association action.

Carter scored a pair of touchdowns and had 134 yards rushing on seven carries, while Zachary Sutton and Kalib Hicks each scored a touchdown in the win.

Laxamana had eight tackles, forced one fumble and had two fumble recoveries in leading the defense. Cameron Anderson had two pass breakups, and Gabriel Tatio had an open-field, touchdown saving tackle to preserve the shutout.

7-8 League

DC Raiders 19, South Arlington Saints 6

Garyeon Robinson scored twice and had 75 yards rushing to help lead the DC Raiders to the win over the South Arlington Saints.

Robinson scored on runs of 37 and 17 yards, and Austin Jordan had 67 yards on the ground and scored. Jordan Bailey led all rushers with 90 yards.

Dominick Taylor led the Raiders’ defense in sacks and tackles as they improved to 6-0 for the season.


9-10 League

DC Raiders 20, South Arlington Saints 18

Jaysaun Smith scored two touchdowns, including a 67-yard kickoff return for a TD, as the Raiders edged the South Arlington Saints.

Dayton Arkansas scored once and picked up 85 yards on the ground, while Ty Johnson added 60 yards rushing and led the defense in tackles.

Jakobi Bruce had an interception, and Jayden Fugett had a game-clinching interception as the Raiders remained undefeated at 6-0.



DC Raiders 33, South Arlington Saints 0

Jason Gulley scored three touchdowns as the undefeated DC Raiders rolled to the win over South Arlington.

Gulley had 37- and 45-yard interception returns for touchdowns and also scored on a 7-yard run. Delano Robinson had 91 yards rushing and scored once, while Andy Scott added 37 yards rushing and scored once.

Parker Mahan forced three fumbles, while Jacob Dean and Trevon Turner recorded two sacks each and Jaeylon Johnson had an interception for the 6-0 Raiders.
