Middle school volleyball: Team effort lifts Navo past Strickland

Navo got major contributions from several players in registering a 25-18, 25-13 win over Strickland in an eighth-grade A-team game.

Heading the Lady Panthers’ attack were Hannah Sargent with six assists and Julia McKeathen with five assists. Jade Parrish had four kills and Sydney Finch had three. Parrish had 10 digs, Cyera Coleman recorded six, Lauren Naido five and Finch three.

Parrish and Naido led with nine service points apiece while McKeathen had six and Finch had five.

Navo took the C-team match 25-21, 26-14. Danajia Haynes had eight assists, and Kylie Beasley had 13 serves.


Calhoun eighth-grade A d. Crownover

Paced by Justus Geary and Lauren Gay, Calhoun captured a 25-15, 25-13 win against Crownover.

Geary had 21 service points while Gay had 11. The leading passers for the Lady Cougars (2-6) were Jasmine Williams, Gay and Danielle Bradfield. Top hitters were Ivy Fagan, Gay and Hannah Arbaugh.

Crownover won the B-team match 25-16, 26-15. For Calhoun, top servers were Serenity Poulson, Kayla Tucker, Bryanna Skinner and Melody Meeks.

Crownover also won the C-team match in a 25-16, 25-20 decision. For Calhoun, the

top servers were Dami Hand, Leah Cadwallader-Daniel and Natashia Paulton.


McMath seventh-grade A d. Little Elm

McMath took a 25-6, 25-15 win over Little Elm to reach the district championship game next week.

Top servers for the Lady Tigers were Miles Baker and Kate Cowan. Other productive performances came from Lucy Martin, Holly Higgs, Sydnie Acker, Kendall Rivers, Alyssa Williamson, Stephanie Williamson and Makenzie Beavers.

Little Elm won the B-team match 25-16, 25-10, 15-9 and the C-team match 25-8, 20-25, 15-13.


McMath eighth-grade A d. Little Elm

McMath had another impressive match with a 25-22, 25-22 win over Little Elm.

For the Lady Tigers (7-1), Emily Acker, Lindsey Devore and Landie Urban were the floor leaders.


Crownover seventh-grade A d. Harpool

Crownover took a 25-12, 25-16 decision against Harpool.

For Harpool (3-5), Amber Lyons had one ace, Caroline Orozco had five kills and Saylor Snowden had 12 digs.


Harpool seventh-grade B d. Crownover

Harpool rallied to post a 25-21, 17-25, 15-13 win over Crownover.

Maddie Holder had two aces for the Lady Longhorns, while Mallory Pitman had one block and Gabby Perez and Elle Baumgarten had one kill apiece.


Harpool seventh-grade C d. Crownover

Harpool got productive efforts in manufacturing a 25-23, 25-23 win against Crownover.

Kinley Meyers and Allie Griffiths each had one ace, Jessie Hoffman had two digs, and Hallie Huysmans and Jazzy Jefferson each had one hit.


Strickland seventh-grade A d. Calhoun

Despite strong performances from Calhoun’s Mia Hehmke and Olyvia Fellebaum, Strickland prevailed 25-15, 25-22.

Hehmke and Fellebaum led in passes with 15 and 13, respectively. Hehmke had six hits while Kaylee Ingram and Hehmke led in serves with seven apiece.
