Middle school roundup: Harmon scores 41 as Crownover cruises

The Crownover Cowboys, behind the 41-point performance of Devion Harmon, rolled to a 68-26 seventh-grade victory over the A-team Strickland Vikings on Thursday night to remain unbeaten at 4-0.

Harmon added 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Cole Schrodeer had 10 points and eight rebounds while Calvin Phillips had seven points.


Harpool eighth-grade A 54, Lake Dallas 29

Harpool used an explosive first-half performance to take a 28-10 lead and coast past Lake Dallas.

Le’Tre Darthard led the Longhorns (6-1) with 18 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Ricky Baker finished with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Morgan Allen had nine points, three assists and five steals for Harpool.

Dameon Moser scored 10 and Ben Duran added eight as the B-team Longhorns scored a 31-15 win over Lake Dallas. Reed Wilhoit scored 10 points as the Harpool “C” team blanked Lake Dallas 33-0.


Crownover seventh-grade C 20, Strickland 8

The Crownover Cowboys stayed undefeated with a 12-point victory over the Strickland Vikings.

Quentin Helm led Crownover with 10 points while Payton Lindsey and Preston Lewis had four apiece.


Navo seventh-grade A 49, McMath 30

The Navo Panthers jumped out to a 26-15 first-half lead and coasted to a 19-point victory over the McMath Tigers.

Palmer Campbell led Navo (6-1) with 18 points while Adam McNeil finished with 16 and Deondre Dansby six.


McMath seventh-grade B 19, Navo 18

The McMath Tigers rallied from a four-point halftime deficit, outscoring Navo 11-6 in the second half, to take a one-point victory.

Terry Pierce III and Alejandro Rivera led Navo with seven points apiece.


McMath seventh-grade C 19, Navo 17

McMath used a strong defensive effort in the fourth quarter to hold Navo scoreless and take the victory.

Jeremiah Richardson led the Navo scoring with nine points while Brandon Lawson added four.



Harpool seventh-grade A 22, Lake Dallas 6

The Harpool Lady Cowboys combined the strong defensive play of Rylee Reed and Mia Knight, the rebounding of Bella Plaza and Sierra Winder, and Callie Boyles’ scoring to rout Lake Dallas.

Boyles scored 13 points and Winder added four as the Lady Longhorns improved to 3-0.

In the B-team game, Lake Dallas scored Harpool 15-6 over the final three quarters to take a 21-10 victory. In the C-team game, Lake Dallas was a 7-4 winner.


Crownover eighth-grade B 16, Strickland 15

The Crownover Lady Cowboys turned back a fierce fourth-quarter Strickland rally to hold on for a one-point victory.

Cami Rockwell led the scoring for Crownover with six points, while Trinity Gipson and Elena Arellano had four apiece.

In the A-team game, Strickland scored a 28-25 victory despite Taylor Wallace’s 10 points and Sydney Sanford’s nine for Crownover. Strickland also claimed the win in the C-team game, 16-7.


Navo seventh-grade A 51, McMath 12

Britain Hartzell poured in 22 points and Eleighseea Rasmussen added 12 as the Navo Lady Panthers remained unbeaten with a big win over McMath.

Izabella Klipsch and Makenna Sweet added six points apiece for Navo (4-0).


Crownover seventh-grade A 22, Strickland 14

Crownover used a balanced scoring attack to roll past Strickland and even its record at 2-2.

Eliza Anderson led the scoring for the Lady Cowboys with 10 points while Kiki Molinar had six and Taylar Hunter finished with four.


Crownover seventh-grade B 18, Strickland 15

The Crownover Lady Cowboys rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to take a three-point victory over Strickland and stay undefeated.

Kelsey Simmons led the scoring for Crownover (4-0) with 10 points, while Morgan Medford, Alyssa Lougee and Darcee Johnson each had two.


Crownover seventh-grade C 22, Strickland 8

The Crownover defense blanked Strickland in the second and fourth quarters as Lady Cowboys ran their record to 3-1.

Kate Rogers led the scoring for Crownover with six points, and Hailey Ryherd and Y Valencia had four apiece.
