Middle school football: Myers opens with shutout of Lake Dallas

Ke’ori Hicks and Billy Bowman each scored two touchdowns, and quarterback Seth Henigan threw for two scores as the Myers Titans defeated Lake Dallas 32-0 on Tuesday night in eighth-grade A-team action.

Hicks scored on runs of 30 and 50 yards, while Bowman ran 25 yards for one score and caught a 20-yard swing pass from Henigan for his other TD. JaTavion Sanders caught a 20-yard pass from Henigan to complete the scoring for the Titans in their season opener.

Myers ‘B’ 24, Lake Dallas 0

The Myers Titans opened their season with a rout of Lake Dallas.

Daryl McDuel scored twice for the Titans, once when he recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD and then on a 35-yard pass-and-run from Milton Cerdo. Cerdo also connected with Constanz Gooden on a 40-yard scoring play, and Garrett Watson had a 20-yard touchdown run.

Bill Blake was a standout on the Titan defense with a interception.

Strickland ‘A’ 28, Navo 18

Strickland quarterback Trevor Morgan threw a pair of touchdown passes, and Jay Sheppard ran for two scores as the Vikings defeated the Navo Panthers.

Morgan had a 55-yard TD pass to Davion Heights and a 10-yarder to Brandon Ortiz. Sheppard, who finished with 105 yards rushing, scored on runs of 55 and 28 yards.

Jackson Parrish led the defensive effort with an interception as Strickland improved to 2-0.

Strickland ‘B’ 7, Navo 0

Gadiel Mora scored on an 8-yard run as the Strickland Vikings (1-1) recorded a win against Navo.

Amari Johnson led the Strickland defense with two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Harpool ‘A’ 22, McMath 0

Cooper Lanz rushed for 126 yards, and Brailynn Pegues added 64 yards on the ground to help the Harpool Longhorns to a victory against the McMath Tigers.

Pegues scored on a 61-yard run, Lanz ran 54 yards for a score, Gabe Saladino had a 1-yard TD run and Logan Roy added two extra points as Harpool improved to 2-0.

Xander Parsons, Basil Gross and Deonte Cates each had a sack, and Saladino had an interception to lead the Harpool defense.

Harpool ‘B’ 8, McMath 6

Parker Loser scrambled 6 yards for a touchdown, and Carlos Bajaras added the extra point as Harpool edged McMath.

McMath’s touchdown came on a 20-yard pass from Tanner Amstutz to Colton Reyna. Amstutz finished with 75 yards passing, while Ben Samford had three tackles for losses and Louden Peterson had one sack.

Crownover ‘A’ 38, Little Elm 0

Eli Stowers passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Crownover Cowboys (2-0) scored a win against Little Elm.

Stowers hit Jaden Fuggett with a 28-yard scoring strike and connected with D’Marcus Howard on a 15-yard scoring toss, then ran 70 yards for a score.

Deuce Harmon, who had a fumble recovery and two interceptions, returned one interception 40 yards for a score, and Ryan Fritcher ran 8 yards for a TD to complete Crownover’s scoring.

Crownover ‘B’ 16, Little Elm 6

Jack Newman and Cade Tucker scored touchdowns as Crownover defeated Little Elm.

Newman scored on a 5-yard run, Tucker caught a 5-yard pass from Brady Rivera and Luis Rangel added two extra points to complete the scoring for the Cowboys (2-0).

Jesse Soules had two interceptions to lead the Crownover defense.

Seventh grade

Myers ‘A’ 40, Lake Dallas 0

Garyreon Robinson and Michael Davis connected on three touchdown passes as the Myers Titans rolled past the Lake Dallas Falcons.

Robinson caught TD passes of 45, 50 and 5 yards from Davis, Aaron McDaniel had scoring runs of 30 and 10 yards, and Isaiah Madison had a 10-yard touchdown run as the Titans opened their season.

Myers ‘B’ 6, Lake Dallas 6

Despite Joshua Billups two interceptions on defense and his 20-yard TD pass to Cade Cook, the Myers Titans were left with a tie against Lake Dallas.

McMath ‘A’ 31, Harpool 26

The McMath Tigers had to hold off a furious second-half rally by the Harpool Longhorns to preserve their victory.

C.J. Rice and Jordan Lyons each scored two touchdowns, and Jario Quiroz added an extra point for the Longhorns (0-2).

Harpool ‘B’ 14, McMath 0

Donovan Walters and Eta Tako each scored touchdowns as the Harpool Longhorns recorded a victory against the McMath Tigers.

Walters scored on a TD pass from Matthew Wood, Tako scored on a short run and Dillon Gagnon played well on the offensive and defensive lines for Harpool (2-0).

Crownover ‘A’ 34, Little Elm 8

B.J. Phillips and Chandler Pullam scored two touchdowns apiece to lead Crownover to victory against Little Elm.

Phillips scored on runs of 25 and 42 yards, and Pullam caught touchdown passes of 8 and 5 yards from Jace Wilson. Jackson Foster had an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Brynn Langford added an extra point.

Grayson O’Bara, Rylan Witworth, Wasay Butt, Foster and Braden Vallejo were standouts on defense for the Cowboys (2-0).

Crownover ‘B’ 7, Little Elm 0

Eastyn Kinderknecht caught a 60-yard scoring pass from Jake Cook, and Jacob Byrd ran in the PAT conversion as Crownover defeated Little Elm.

Brett Schafer, Dirk Falkenhagan, Holden Moss and Bryler Nitcholas also played well for Crownover (2-0).

Navo ‘A’ 52, Strickland 24

Austin Jordan did all the scoring for the Strickland Vikings (1-1) in their loss to Navo. He returned an interception for a touchdown, had a 70-yard kickoff return, ran for two more TDs and finished with 150 yards rushing.

Strickland ‘B’ 8, Navo 7

Jakob Camizzi had a touchdown run and recorded a safety as the Strickland Vikings (1-1) scored a win against the Navo Panthers.
