Middle school basketball: Williams, Mason help Harpool move to 7-0

The unbeaten seventh-grade Harpool Lady Longhorns, now 7-0, jumped out to a 35-9 halftime lead and coasted to a 52-11 victory over the Navo Lady Panthers in A-team action Thursday night.

Alisa Williams led Harpool with 17 points while Hailey Mason added 15 and Hayden Colson had eight.

Kaidyn Jones led Navo with four points, and Meadow Rhynes and Loralei Pittman had three apiece.

Harpool seventh-grade ‘B’ 27, Navo 7

Abigail Spencer poured in 13 points to lead the Harpool Lady Longhorns to a 20-point win over Navo. Rylie Beiling added six as Harpool improved to 4-0.

Harpool seventh-grade ‘C’ 19, Navo 12

The Harpool Lady Longhorns raced out to a commanding 10-0 lead en route to their triumph over Navo to remain undefeated.

Karli Hill led Harpool (4-0) with nine points, Rylie Lewis-Pittilo had six and Ashley Masoner four.

Calhoun seventh-grade ‘A’ 18, Strickland 11

Brooklyn Morris scored 12 points to lead the Calhoun Lady Cougars to their first win.

Maisie Johnson added four points and Tatiana Alimoot-Pecheco had two for Calhoun (1-2).

Strickland won the B-team game 26-4.

Little Elm seventh-grade ‘A’ 32, Myers 1

Vanessa Ogle scored the lone point for the Myers Lady Titans (0-5) in their loss to Little Elm.

Little Elm seventh-grade ‘B’ 38, Myers 8

Kinley Wheeler scored four points as Myers fell to 0-3 with a loss to Little Elm.

Little Elm won the C-team game 17-0.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade ‘A’ 42, McMath 11

The McMath Lady Tigers fell behind 20-4 in the first half and couldn’t overcome the sluggish start in their loss to Lake Dallas.

Abby Folsom led McMath (1-3) with eight points and Megan Fleitman added two.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade ‘B’ 19, McMath 11

Lake Dallas broke open a tight game in the second half to pull away.

Kalyn Cardona led McMath (1-3) with four points and Sarah Turner added three.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade ‘C’ 13, McMath 2

Pauline Alonso was the lone scorer for the McMath Lady Tigers (1-3) in their loss to Lake Dallas.

Navo eighth-grade ‘B’ 28, Harpool 24

The Navo Lady Panthers got strong performances from Lillian Tylen and Jaliyah Jackson as they remained unbeaten with a win over Harpool (3-1).

Tylen scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while Jackson had 12 points for Navo (4-0).

Little Elm eighth-grade ‘A’ 43, Myers 5

LaMaya McColor scored three points and Michelle McKinney added two as the Myers Lady Titans (1-2) were defeated by Little Elm.

Little Elm eighth-grade ‘B’ 30, Myers 12

The Myers Lady Titans couldn’t overcome a slow start in their loss to Little Elm.

Brittnie Schneider led the scoring for Myers (0-3) with four points while Alexa Riojas, Zarea Taylor, Mannie Marin and Karina Guzman each had two.

Little Elm eighth-grade ‘C’ 8, Myers 2

Myers’ Raven Sorrell scored the only basket for the Lady Titans (1-2) in their loss to Little Elm.



Lake Dallas eighth-grade ‘A’ 36, McMath 33

Lake Dallas outscored McMath 16-6 in the final quarter to rally for a three-point victory after trailing by as many as 13.

Cameron Stevenson had 15 and Louden Peterson added 10 as McMath (2-2) suffered its first loss.

Lake Dallas eighth-grade ‘B’ 41, McMath 27

The McMath Tigers couldn’t overcome a sluggish start in their loss to Lake Dallas.

Marcus Crain led the scoring for McMath (0-4) with eight points, Hezeki Smoot had six and Tanner Amstutz four.

Lake Dallas won the C-team game 12-8.

McMath seventh-grade ‘A’ 45, Lake Dallas 38

The McMath Tigers, behind the scoring of Ryan Cooper and Chris Feaster, rolled to a seven-point win over Lake Dallas.

Cooper scored 16 points, Feaster added 10 and Nate Newton finished with eight as McMath improved to 2-2.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade ‘B’ 33, McMath 30

McMath’s fourth-quarter rally fell short in its loss to Lake Dallas.

Jason Carter led the Tigers (1-3) with 10 points, Michael Pogue had six and Gabe Jameson and Baylor Battles each had four.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade ‘C’ 19, McMath 8

Jeremiah Lucero, Adrian Rodriguez, Cooper Hardin and Brendon Collardo each scored two points as McMath (0-4) lost to Lake Dallas.
