Middle school football roundup: Myers remains unbeaten with win over Little Elm

Isaiah Madison scored three touchdowns to lead the Myers Titans  to a hard-fought 34-30 A-team victory over Little Elm on Tuesday night to remain unbeaten on the eighth-grade season.

Madison, a team leader on offense and defense, scored on a 55-yard interception return and had touchdown runs of 5 and 15 yards. Garyreon Robinson scored on a 75-yard run, Michael Davis had a 15-yard TD scamper and Jackson Baker added a pair of extra points as Myers improved to 4-0.

In the B-team game, Myers defeated Little Elm 7-0.

Crownover 'A' 56, Rodriguez 6

The Crownover Cowboys returned three fumbles for touchdowns and had seven players  score TDs in their victory over the Rodriguez Vipers.

Fillibus Dimka (85 yards), Zane Royston (55) and Jaden Powell (40) each returned fumbles for scores. Jace Wilson caught a 60-yard pass from Chandler Pullam for a score, BJ Phillips ran 45 and 50 yards for scores, Grayson O'Bara had a 60-yard TD run and Jackson Foster caught a 35-yard pass from Pullam for a touchdown. 

Rylan Whitworth had two PAT kicks, Wilson, and Jessie McLaughlin, Devonte King and Zach Sutton ran for 1-point conversions to complete the scoring for Crownover (4-0).

McMath 'A' 20, Lake Dallas 0

Quarterback Ryan Cooper and receiver Jason Carter teamed up for two touchdowns as the McMath Tigers recorded their first win with a shutout of  Lake Dallas.

Cooper hit Carter with touchdown throws of 15 and 35 yards, and Ryan Wilkins got the Tigers'  final score on a 10-yard run. 

Other standouts for McMath (1-3) were Nate Newton with 51 yards rushing, 40 yards receiving and one tackle for a loss, Javaan Evans with a 60-yard kickoff return and Raudel Morales with a fumble recovery. Wilkins finished with 24 yards rushing and had a sack.

McMath 'B' 14, Lake Dallas 0

Baylor Battle threw two touchdown passes to propel the McMath Tigers to victory over Lake Dallas.

Battle had a 13-yard scoring toss to Andrew Rosales and a 3-yard pass to Josh Billups as McMath evened its record at 2-2.

Nathan Galaviz had an 80-yard kickoff return, forced a fumble and had a fumble recovery, and Travis Coffman and Carlos Molina had tackles for losses to lead the Tiger defense.

Harpool 'A' 32, Navo 12

Eta Tako scored three times  and rushed for 139 yards as the Harpool Longhorns rolled past the Navo Panthers.

Tako had scoring runs of 31, 39 and 18 yards. CJ Rice, who had 90 yards rushing on eight carries, scored on a 28-yard run and Jose Ochoo kicked four extra points as Harpool improved to 3-1.

Navo (1-3) scored touchdowns on Jayson Jones passes to Kelby Trevino for 21 yards and to Damien Scullion for 17 yards.

Navo 'B' 14, Harpool 6

Navo's Marquis Bryant raced 25 yards for a touchdown with one minute remaining to keep the Navo Panthers unbeaten with a win over the Harpool Longhorns (2-2).

The Panthers (4-0) got their other touchdown on an 11-yard pass from Omani Ozenne to Casey Sessions. Linebacker Adrian Curtis led the Navo defense with 11 tackles — four for losses — and two sacks.

Seventh grade

Harpool 'A' 25, Navo 6

Jackson Arnold ran for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead the unbeaten Harpool Longhorns to victory over the Navo Panthers.

Arnold had scoring runs of 53, 26 and 10 yards and hit Michael Kanu with a 9-yard TD pass. Arnold had 125 yards rushing on nine carries while Blade Carver had 58 yards on four carries. Leading the defense for Harpool (4-0) were Ryder McDaniel (one interception), Calen Austin, Mason Martin and Jackson Moore.

Navo (1-3) got a touchdown on a 76-yard pass-and-run play from quarterback Wyatt Smith to Steven Richardson.

Harpool 'B' 13, Navo 12

Quarterback Christian Klein's touchdown pass to Dylan Freeman with 38 seconds remaining tied the score before Klein ran in the conversion to give the Harpool Longhorns a one-point win over Navo.

Klein and Freeman connected for Harpool's other touchdown as the Longhorns moved to 3-1.

The Panthers (3-1), in suffering their first loss, scored touchdowns on a 24-yard pass from Matthew Rodas to Mathew Johnson and Kaden O'Neal's 20-yard run.

Crownover 'A' 26, Rodriguez 0

Four players scored touchdowns as the Crownover Cowboys remained unbeaten with a shutout of the Rodriguez Vipers.

Ryan Yaites opened the scoring for the Cowboys (4-0) with a 5-yard run and Ivan Pena added the extra point. Quarterback Blake Courtney was part of the next two scoring plays for the Cowboys with touchdowns passes of 50 yards to Sutton Lee and 70 yards to Si Stoval. Bryson Riggs closed the scoring with a 12-yard run.

Pena, Brenden Bradshaw and Pierson Adam were defensive standouts for Crownover, which held Rodriguez to no first downs. McCalin Wylie, Aiden Mobley, Kale Perkins and Mason Prickett were standouts on the offensive line.

Crownover 'B' 19, Rodriguez 12

The Crownover Cowboys used three long touchdown runs to defeat the Rodriguez Vipers and improve to 4-0.

Jack Bradley opened the Cowboy scoring with a 60-yard TD run, followed by Timothy Cardona's 35-yard dash to the end zone and Tad Tamplen's 36-yard scoring run.

Little Elm 'A' 22, Myers 14

Kalib Hicks scored on a 2-yard run and Joesif Williams caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Brody Quillin in Myers' loss to Little Elm.

In the B-team game, Little Elm won 12-0.
