Middle school volleyball roundup: McMath remains unbeaten with sweep of Myers

The McMath Lady Tigers improved to 5-0 with a 25-10, 25-17 sweep of the Myers Lady Titans on Thursday night in eighth-grade A-team action.

Rosie Du led the way for the Tigers (5-0) with four aces and nine assists, and Landry Wilkins had six kills and three aces.

McMath 'B' d. Myers

Megan Fleitman had six assists and one ace and Raegan Sullivan had two kills, four aces and four digs as the McMath Lady Tigers rolled to a 25-18, 25-18 sweep of Myers.

Myers 'C' d. McMath

The Myers Lady Titans rallied after a first-set loss to defeat the McMath Lady Tigers 14-25, 25-18, 15-6 for their first win.

Elle Tonda led Myers (1-3) in serving while Bethany Leon was the top defender.

Jenny Elizondo had six aces and one kill and Marlene Meermik had five aces to lead McMath.

Crownover 'A' d. Navo

The Crownover Lady Cowboys (4-1) recovered after a second-set loss to take a  25-23, 20-25, 25-16 victory over the Navo Lady Panthers.

Maggie Walsh led the Cowboys with consistent serving in all three sets while Kennedy Wallace led a strong defensive effort and Alexandria Gilmore provided strong setting throughout the match.

Crownover 'B' d. Navo

Kalli Morris' serving and defensive digs and Natalia Polanco's hitting led the way as Crownover (4-1) defeated Navo 25-14, 25-19.

Little Elm d. Calhoun

Little Elm swept three matches from Calhoun, winning the A-team match 25-6, 25-10, the B-team contest 25-9, 25-12 and the C-team match 25-27, 25-12.

Seventh grade

Crownover 'A' d. Navo

 The Crownover Lady Cowboys (5-0) used the strong serving of Kyndal Stowers and timely kills from Mariah Watson in their 25-11, 25-15 win over Navo.

Crownover 'B' d. Navo

Taylor Moala dominated the second set with 17 straight service points as Crownover (3-2) defeated Navo 25-22, 25-8.

Crownover 'C' d. Navo

Alexis Carter's strong service game helped the Crownover Lady Cowboys (4-1) to their  28-26, 25-18 victory over Navo.

Little Elm  d. Calhoun

Despite strong play from Ali McKenna, Felisha Baquera, Melody Cortes and E'Leigha Harrington, the Calhoun Lady Cougars fell to Little Elm 25-7, 25-15.

Calhoun also lost the B-team match 25-16, 25-2, and Little Elm completed the sweep with a 25-16, 25-7 win in the C-team clash.

McMath 'A' d. Myers

Katelyn Thomas had 15 aces and six kills, Brooke Stewart had five assists and two aces and Maycee Watson had four aces as the McMath Lady Tigers defeated Myers 25-15, 25-19 to improve to 4-1.

Myers 'B' d. McMath

Mercedes Burnett led a strong effort as the Myers Lady Titans (3-2) defeated McMath 25-14, 10-25, 15-8.

Elaina Pharr, Landry Hill, Maggie Wainscott and Jessica Ferralez led McMath's effort.

McMath 'C' d. Myers

Konisha Cuellar had 10 aces and one kill and Alexa Wandro had a kill as the McMath Lady Tigers rallied to defeat Myers 22-25, 25-13, 15-1. 

Harpool 'A' d. Rodriguez

The Harpool Lady Longhorns improved to 3-1 with a 25-11, 25-7 victory over the Rodriguez Lady Vipers.

Leading the way for the Longhorns was Hayden Brock with one kill. Anna Woodfin had one tip,  Kylie Freeman had one hit and Hailey Christman had one kill, one tip and two hits.

Harpool 'B' d. Rodriguez

Ashlyn Mohair had three aces and Sarah Hayes, Samantha Raney and Rachel Anderson had one ace apiece as Harpool defeated Rodriguez 25-9, 25-21.

Harpool 'C' d. Rodriguez

The Harpool Lady Longhorns got strong play from Brandy DeLeon, Paige Luzader and Merci Weimer as they defeated Rodriguez 25-17, 25-14.
