Middle school volleyball roundup: Crownover rallies to defeat Lady Longhorns

The Crownover Lady Cowboys rallied from a first-set loss to record a hard-fought 16-25, 28-26, 25-15 victory over the Harpool Lady Longhorns on Wednesday night in eighth-grade A-team action.

Caroline Christensen's and London Hunter's strong serving and Kennedi Wallace's great kills helped the Lady Cowboys improve to 6-1.

Harpool 'B' d. Crownover

The Harpool Lady Longhorns rallied from a first-set loss to knock off Crownover 22-25, 25-9, 15-10.

Kyndall Knotts led the Lady Cowboys (5-2) in serving while Bre Jackson and Kaili Morris played great defensively.

Harpool did not submit a game report.

Crownover 'C' d. Harpool

The Crownover Lady Cowboys had to use a third-set rally to secure a 25-19, 14-25, 15-12 victory over the Harpool Lady Longhorns.

Katie Little led Crownover (5-0) with defensive digs while Kennedy Born was the service leader.

McMath 'A' d. Calhoun

Abby Folsom had two kills, four assists and two aces and Kylie Williams had two kills and one block as McMath (7-0) swept the Calhoun Lady Cougars 25-6, 25-9.

McMath 'B' d. Calhoun

The McMath Lady Tigers got strong serving and four kills from Kayley Robison and solid defense from Izzy Redwine in their 25-16, 25-5 victory over Calhoun.

McMath 'C' d. Calhoun

Megan Gray had nine aces and Marlene Meernik had eight as McMath rallied to defeat Calhoun 23-25, 25-8, 15-2.

Navo 'A' d. Rodriguez

Tori Ross had 12 service points and five kills to lead the Navo Lady Panthers to a 25-4, 25-11 win over Rodriguez.

Taya Svec had eight points and eight assists while Imani Taylor had seven points for Navo (5-2).

Seventh grade
McMath 'A' d. Calhoun

Katelyn Thomas had 11 aces and six kills to lead the McMath Lady Tigers to a 25-14, 25-15 victory over the Calhoun Lady Cougars.

Sarah Wood had one kill and two aces, Brooke Stewart have five assists, one kill and three aces and Ayana Scott and Hannah Lee had one ace apiece as McMath improved to 6-1.

Calhoun 'B' d. McMath

The Calhoun Lady Cougars pulled out a hard-fought first-set victory and then rolled to a 25-19, 25-8 sweep of McMath.

Jessica Ferralez and Maggie Wainscott were standouts for the Lady Tigers (1-6).

Calhoun did not submit a game report.

McMath 'C' d. Calhoun

Hailey Rodriguez's strong offensive play and a outstanding performance from libero Alexa Wandrol helped McMath (3-4) to a 25-15, 25-18 win over Calhoun.

Crownover 'A' d. Harpool

Using the strong serving of Clara Beeks and Emily Johnson, the Crownover Lady Cowboys recorded a 17-25, 25-13, 25-21 victory over Harpool.

Marish Watson was a standout with her serves and kills as Crownover remained unbeaten at 7-0.

Harpool won the B-team match 30-29, 25-22 and the C-team match 25-16, 21-25, 15-10.
