Abby Folsom scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the McMath Lady Tigers to a season-opening 32-22 victory over the Crownover Lady Cowboys on Thursday night in eighth-grade A-team action.
Megan Fleitman and Landry Wilkins finished with six points apiece for McMath, while Kenzie Cogdell led Crownover with 10 points.
McMath also was victorious in the B-team game, winning 33-24. Ashanti McDade led McMath with 10 points, Abby Cole finished with nine and Margaret Nicholson and Raegan Sullivan had six apiece.
Crownover won the C-team game 20-9. Nadia Brown was the leading scorer for McMath with seven points.
Harpool eighth-grade 'A' 47, Strickland 4
The Harpool Lady Longhorns, behind the efforts of Alisa Williams with 14 points and five rebounds, rolled to a 47-4 victory over Strickland. Carrie Aune added eight points and five rebounds and Hailey Mason had eight points and three steals.
Harpool cruised in the B-team game, winning 38-14. Rylie Beiling led the Lady Longhorns with nine points, Avery Hallmark had eight and Mia Ferrara six.
The Harpool "C" team completed the sweep with a 14-2 win, as Olivia Hodgson, Grace Brown and Olivia Watson had four points apiece.
Crownover seventh-grade 'A' 40, McMath 20
Hailey Evens, Kyndal Stowers and Mariah Watson led the way as the Crownover Lady Cowboys rolled to a 40-20 victory over McMath in the A-team game.
Kendyle Hall had 15 points and Maggie Wainscott five to lead the Lady Tigers.
Claire Schroeder scored 10 points as Crownover dominated McMath in the B-team game 38-2.
In the C-team game, the Lady Cowboys got six points from Camden Randall in a 26-1 win over McMath.
Harpool seventh-grade 'A' 47, Strickland 0
Harpool handed the Strickland Lady Vikings a 47-0 loss in the A-team game as Ashlin Crabtree led the Lady Longhorns with 12 points, Summer Shuster added nine and Raina Akbar finished with eight.
Harpool's "B" team held Strickland scoreless in the first half en route to a 32-3 victory. Abby LoBello led the scoring for the Lady Longhorns with nine while Lillian Marker had eight and Haley Navarro six.
In the C-team game, Strickland held off a fierce second-half rally to score a 21-20 victory over Harpool. Brady DeLeon and Anna Woodfin led Harpool with six points apiece. Strickland did not submit a game report.
Crownover eighth-grade 'A' 59, McMath 22
The Crownover Cowboys outscored McMath 22-4 in the second quarter and rolled to a 59-22 victory in the A-team game.
Collin Knapp led the Cowboys with 20 points, Jace Wilson added 13 and Chandler Pullam had 11. Nate Newton led McMath with 10 points.
Crownover used a 15-5 third-quarter scoring edge to defeat McMath 30-19 in the B-team game. Kyve Bolden had six points to lead Crownover while Zane Royston had five and Jesse McLaughlin and Christian Luveano had four apiece. Josh Billups was the scoring leader for McMath with 10.
Dirk Falkenhagen scored 12 points to lead Crownover to a 30-10 win over McMath in the C-team game. Nick Fox and Jace Roehr had four points apiece for the Tigers.
Crownover seventh-grade 'A' 49, McMath 24
Peyton Bowen poured in 12 points to lead the Crownover Cowboys to a 49-24 victory over McMath in the A-team game. Sutton Lee added nine points and Connor Newton finished with eight.
Marquis Nuby led the scoring for McMath with 13.
In the B-team game, Crownover jumped out to a 16-0 first-quarter lead and pulled away for a 56-7 victory. Alex Cedillo and Jadyn Fritsch shared scoring honors for Crownover with nine points apiece.
Crownover, after trailing 11-6 at halftime, rallied to score a 16-15 win over the Tigers. Payton Campbell led the scoring for the Cowboys with seven and Matthrew Whitcombe added six.
Harpool seventh-grade 'A' 35, Strickland 10
Harpool got nine points from Ethan Etter, Jack Cagianello had eight, Blayde Carver had seven and Dylan Freeman had six as the Longhorns pounded Strickland 35-10 in the A-team game.
The Longhorns jumped out to a 27-2 first-quarter lead and finished with a 38-4 victory over Strickland in the B-team game. Mike Kanu led Harpool with 10 points, Jordan Dillard had nine and Josh Lumsden seven.
Harpool dominated throughout in winning 29-0 in the C-team game. Mason Lucero led Harpool with eight points, and Anthony Benford and Ian Smith each finished with six.
