Police said a woman was shot in the leg by a gun that fell off a bed Friday evening in the 6000 block of English Manor Road, according to a police report.
The caller told police a revolver fell from the bed while the 54-year-old victim was packing to move out of the home. Police didn’t mention if the safety was engaged on the revolver in the report.
The report shows the victim and three witnesses gave the same narrative.
Although the woman was shot in the leg, she was still able to walk a few steps, police said. She was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
100 block of North Locust Street — Police saw an intoxicated 39-year-old man kiss a woman on the cheek without her permission Friday evening, according to a police report.
Officers were dispatched in reference to an intoxicated man. They located the man after speaking with a witness and then witnessed him kiss a woman on the cheek.
The report says the victim wished to press charges for assault by contact. The man was arrested on that charge.
400 block of Fulton Street — A disagreement over missing headphones got physical after a man punched his girlfriend in the ear Friday afternoon at the Starlite Apartments, according to a police report.
Police spoke with the 20-year-old victim at a local hospital where she was being treated for minor injuries. The report says she told police her boyfriend struck her with his fist on her left ear after a disagreement about his missing headphones.
1300 block of Dallas Drive — A 54-year-old woman told police her fiance slapped and choked her Friday evening, according to a police report.
The officers spoke with the woman in the emergency room of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton. She told police her fiance became enraged because he believed she was cheating on him, the report says.
From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, the Denton Police Department handled 182 service and officer-initiated calls and made 14 arrests.
